Practical guide
How to know if a broker is legit
Before paying anything in, four checks anyone can do in ten minutes rule out most fraudulent platforms.
1. Look it up in the regulator's register
Not what its website says: the company must appear in the official register, under that exact name.
2. Check for warnings
Regulators publish alerts about firms operating without authorisation. Our list collects many of them.
3. Beware the near-identical name
A common tactic is a name almost identical to a real authorised firm. Compare the domain, not just the name.
4. Look at how they ask for the money
An authorised firm does not ask for transfers to personal accounts, crypto payments to a wallet, or upfront "taxes" to withdraw.
